If you do not know what this day is, your in luck because i'm going to tell you. Denmark, having the beer loving culture that we have, has a tradition that every year on the first Friday of November at exactly 20:59 Tuborg's Julebryg(Christmas brew) is made available in bars all across the country. (For some reason it has been moved to the last Friday of October this year.) This for a lot of danes marks the start of the christmas season and is just a good reason to go out and get shitfaced and drink good danish beer. J-dag use to be held on the first Thursday of November but schools got tired of students coming to school drunk, hungover or not coming to school at all so it got moved to Friday.
J-dag has such a large effect on the population that doctors are advising us to cancel j-dag for our health. There are more people that are stopped and fined for drunk driving on J-dag then there are during new years eve. J-dag is probably the biggest party night in all of denmark. Are we danes going to cancel j-dag just for our health. Fuck no, J-dag forever!
